This is the first in our series of articles showing how you can make brilliant fan-centric Experiences, using all the tools available with a subscription to Monterosa.
We’ll cover how to take a simple Element and use various features available to make an experience fans will love. We’ll also share some case study examples, inspiration concepts and tips around how different marketing channels and storytelling can be leveraged to amplify your reach.
Getting started
The Element: Multi Question Quiz / Standard Quiz
Fans love quizzes. A chance to test their knowledge, foster competition between friends and prove one’s own fandom (to oneself, if no one else!). It has a number of simple formats suitable for a wide range of scenarios and enables questions which are text based, image based and offers a variety of layout options.
Up your game #1: Utilise question image & image reveal features
Within Studio, creators can publish a hero image per question and upload a different image to display at the same time as the correct answer is revealed.
Fan engagement idea: Spot the Ball
With Spot the Ball, you can use images to make a compelling quiz where fans have to select which position the ball is in from 4 different options. Upon revealing the answer, the new image can show fans where the ball is placed.
Up your game #2: Answer option images
Another way to build an engaging image-led quiz is by utilising the feature to have an image per answer option.
Up your game #3: Get more mileage from every quiz with our Randomisation feature
Once you’ve built your image quiz, why not make the most out of it for minimal effort? Our Quiz Randomisation feature allows you to add more questions that your quiz holds and then will publish a selection of questions, so that the quiz is different every time. This means that fans can play multiple times, as the questions will be varied, without you needing to make multiple different quizzes.
Up your game #4: Amp up the competition factor with gamification
Sports and media organisations can benefit significantly from gamified experiences, driving revenue with subscriptions, merchandise sales, ticketing, sign-ups and other conversions. In most cases, the most significant value is derived from data, powering direct marketing, feeding personalisation with interests and preferences, and generating actionable insights.
By gamifying your quiz with points scoring, leaderboards, leagues and more, you can make a task fun, giving it a sense of purpose, and making the experience seamless— where every element feels dynamic and purposeful.
Up your game #5: Competition form
Enriching fan data is a common goal for many sports organisations, so they can maximise commercial potential, whether that’s to be able to sell more merchandise via advertising personalisation or using that data to be able to sell sponsorship packages that deliver increased value for brands. Incentivise participation with a chance to win and use the opportunity to gather valuable fan data in the process.
