London, 11 June 2025

  • Viewers of Love Island Season 12 can take part through the app and buy products seen on screen through Shop the Show.
  • The native app uses the Monterosa SDK to load interactive elements from Monterosa / Interaction Cloud in real time. The platform has over 50 interactive Elements.

London, 11 June 2025: The new Love Island app has launched for Season 12, letting viewers take part while they watch.

The Monterosa SDK is built into the native app, loading interactive elements in real time from Monterosa / Interaction Cloud, along with app styling and decisions. The integration needed little development work on the app itself. The Monterosa Platform has over 50 interactive Elements.

Shop the Show lets fans buy products they have seen in use on the programme directly through the app. The app also has assets available for sponsorship and supports inline advertising.

Interactions capture first-party data on user preferences, viewing habits, purchasing intent and demographics. Fans also enter their details for a chance to win a prize in competitions.

Push notifications alert users when new content goes live. Social embeds let fans take part in individual interactions outside the app.

"Love Island has viewers' attention for an hour a night, and the question we get asked is what to do with it. The app gives them something to do while they watch, and it turns that hour into first-party data the broadcaster keeps: what people picked, and what they bought. Passive viewing produces none of that."

Jason McGilloway, Head of Fan Engagement, Monterosa

The app is live for Season 12.
