London, 28 September 2026: Monterosa, the gamification and fan experience layer for some of the biggest names in sport, entertainment and media, has launched its Partner Developer Programme, opening its platform to third-party game studios and vibe coders.
Community-made, viral vibe-coded games are having a moment. There are weekly drops of new viral games, from stats-based puzzles to formats nobody had tried before, made by imaginative people using coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini. AI has democratised game creation. One of them, the NFL roster game 20-0, was built in a day and reached around 2.2 million visitors in its first ten weeks, according to Sportico. At the same time, game studios are using AI tooling to stretch what is possible in the browser and in mobile apps.
Through the programme, studios and AI-assisted coders can apply to become Monterosa partners and build games for its clients. Those clients, including leagues, teams, broadcasters and media companies, can also bring their own game partners, studios or in-house ideas to the platform.
Partners build on Monterosa's existing backend services and keep full creative freedom on the front end: the game mechanics, interface, animation and use of data. The platform gives them:
- Security, with answers and scoring kept on the backend
- Game engines that scale, with support
- Content management, so one game can be duplicated and run in multiple languages, variants and styles
- Distribution to Monterosa's publishing clients
- Support and data management
Organisations with their own data sets can also make them available to third-party developers through Monterosa's store: for example archive stats, video archives and trivia libraries.
Monterosa has also released Gamestage AI, a new agent and skill that can be installed in coding agents like Claude Code, Codex or Gemini. It carries full knowledge of how the platform works and includes a command-line tool for Monterosa, so developers can migrate an existing game or build a new one. The result is a game that is ready for approval and distribution.
The programme has launched with Wave, the Dutch game studio, whose clients include PepsiCo and Heineken. With Wave, Monterosa has deployed games with two partner sports organisations. Monterosa is now opening the programme to other third parties, with a limited number of partner places in 2026 and a wider rollout planned for 2027.
"It will not be lost on anyone working in sport or gaming that community-made, vibe-coded games are having their viral moment. As fans ourselves, we love these games, and we come up with new ideas every day too. Opening Monterosa to studios and vibe coders means a great game can reach the leagues, teams and media companies we work with, on a platform built for security, scale and support. We can't wait to see what games get created."
Tom McDonnell, CEO, Monterosa
"Years of experience have taught us that delivering truly impactful engagement requires an unbeatable platform foundation. Partnering with Monterosa allows us to seamlessly scale our games and experiences on their industry-leading platform."
Erik van Mourik, Co-Founder, Wave
Game studios and vibe coders with a game they want in front of leagues, teams and media companies, and rights-holders, brands and publishers that want to be part of the ecosystem, can apply at monterosa.co/development-partners.
