San Jose, 26 March 2026: The San Jose Sports Authority (SJSA) has partnered with fan engagement platform Monterosa to launch Game On, SJ26, a city-wide digital engagement and loyalty programme for residents. The programme covers a year in which San Jose hosts NCAA March Madness and welcomes visitors to the Bay Area for the World Cup.
The app extends the city's existing Game On youth sports initiative, bringing activities for the year's events together in one place. Residents can take sports quizzes, enter pick'em competitions and prediction challenges, create custom badges through an Adobe Express integration, and learn about the countries competing at the FIFA World Cup.
Monterosa's Loyalty Layer lets residents earn points for taking part. Challenges encourage participation across neighbourhoods and through schools and community groups, with prizes including merchandise, tickets to local sport and Southwest Airlines return tickets.
The events the app covers are Super Bowl LX Opening Night, the NCAA Men's Basketball Regionals, six FIFA World Cup matches, the USA Table Tennis National Championships, the CrossFit Games, Slam Jose 3on3 Basketball, and the Rock-n-Roll 5K, 10K and Half Marathon.
"Game On, SJ26 brings our community together to celebrate San Jose's sports culture."
Matt Mahan, Mayor of San Jose
The Mayor's words are taken from the San Jose Sports Authority's own announcement of 26 March 2026.
"San Jose is treating residents the way the best sports organisations treat their fans, as the core community, not an afterthought. Our job is to make it easy and fun to get involved across the whole year. If we do this right, 2026 won't just be big moments for visitors. It will be a year the people of San Jose feel they owned."
Jason McGilloway, Head of Fan Engagement, Monterosa
Monterosa will provide strategic guidance throughout the year and adapt Experiences for each competition.
Game On, SJ26 is available on iOS and Android.
