Questions
What to check before you apply.
Can we bring a game we already own?
Yes. Make it available to Monterosa customers through Interaction Cloud. Prove at least 100,000 concurrent players and support the customer's core integrations.
What does it cost, and how do we get paid?
You earn a revenue share, agreed per partnership, from the fee the customer pays for the game. Advertising and sponsorship income usually stays with the customer. Where Monterosa is the prime contractor, we take a management fee.
Do we keep our intellectual property?
You keep the IP in your front-end code and license it to Monterosa and the customer for the term. Nothing on the Monterosa side transfers. The Partner Agreement sets the commercial terms.
Do we get exclusivity over a game type?
No. Neither Monterosa nor its customers can offer exclusivity over a game type, and we cannot stop others building something similar.
Can we monetise the game?
Advertising, sponsorship and payments are allowed. Declare them in the application; they are approved before launch and cannot change without approval. Advertising and sponsorship income usually stays with the customer.
Can we use our own backend?
Apply for case-by-case approval with load test results, a recent penetration test with its remediation status, and hosting details: provider, regions and who runs it. We may ask for it to run in our AWS environment, and it is not always accepted. First check whether Interaction Cloud Elements or a Gamestage engine does the job.
Which instance will our app run on?
Europe or USA, chosen per project. You build on a development instance first, then we create the production Project and you deploy the approved version to it.
Can we start building before approval?
No. Submit a complete application and wait for approval. The Partner Agreement is signed before access is issued.
How long does approval take?
A complete application gets a decision within 10 working days. Apply 12 weeks before launch, or earlier for a new extension or your own backend.
What if we cannot meet a requirement?
Answer Will comply with exceptions or Will not comply, and explain why. We discuss it at assessment; it does not rule you out on its own.
Can we store fan data?
No. Forms use the Monterosa Forms service and personal data is stored on or with Monterosa. Where your app processes personal data, you sign a data processing agreement as a sub-processor, and on exit data is returned or deleted within 30 days. Honour the SDK consent signal and show the customer's privacy notice, not your own.
Can we use AI to build the app?
Yes. Declare AI used for code, artwork, audio and copy, and have a person review generated code. Do not send personal data to AI services. A model inside the app needs separate approval.
Who talks to the customer?
Your Monterosa Product Delivery Manager. Join calls and threads when invited. Do not pitch, negotiate or send proposals without written approval.
When should we request certification?
Plan for three weeks before launch, and no later than two. Confirm the deadline with us.
Does submitting mean the app is accepted?
No. Assessment, evidence review, UAT and launch approval are separate stages. We test first, then the customer signs off against the agreed scope.
What happens when we leave?
90 days' notice for a live app and 30 days for unlaunched work, with data and access closed out, documentation handed over and 30 days of transition support. The Partner Agreement sets the final terms.
